Trainingcamp Beijing - China
Tuesday, 15 May 2007

The Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team is now in trainingcamp in China, near Beijing. Chinese riders and coaches from several provinces are joining the team to learn different ways of training and get more experience in cycling sports. Trainer Michael Carter (USA) and Coach Nathan Dahlberg (New Zealand) bring in their experience from the grand Tours; Giro d’Italia and Tour de France. We hope that they will discover some new Chinese talents that will race these tours in the future.

Further international experience can be learned from rider to rider with the following Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team riders present: Sergey Kudentsov from Russia, Thijs Zonneveld from the Netherlands, Robin Reid from New Zealand, Jamsran Ulzii-Orshikh from Mongolia and our Chinese riders Liu Yi Lin, Yu Tong, Zhang Wei and Li Chao.

Trek bicycles will be there with their support in bicycles, wheels (from Bontrager) and other spare parts. Mechanic Henk Zuidema from the Netherlands will take care of the bicycles and give advice and teach as well. The staff is completed with Peter Coates from Denmark who takes care of nutrition and massages.
