Monday, 05 March 2007
The Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team is racing in Africa over the next few days. The Giro del Capo (6-11 March) is Africa’s most prestigious cycling event. An interesting detail is the recreational event on the last day of the Giro, in which 30.000 recreational cyclists take part!

This is the first race in which the mountainbikers of team Dolphin, that have been integrated in the team, will join the racing program. Rudi van Houts and Sid Taberlay make their debut... We are curious how they will do on the road!

Chi Yin ‘Kenji’ Leung gets a chance to prove he is ready to sprint well in an international level race. Pol hopes he can continue his strong Langkawi performance and Thijs is very curious about his new bike-position, that team trainer Edwin Achterberg gave him according to the Mapei positioning method.

Several European teams come over to South Africa for the event, it has a very strong participation and a tough course.
