At the first racing day of the Discovery Channel Marco Polo team, Sergey Kudentsov was the first DCMP rider to finish. Sergey got 7th in the first stage of the Tour of Malaysia.

Pol and Yutong tried to keep a leading group of 30 together for Sergey, but didn't succeed. Makotot Iyima of Japan won the stage and Lam Kai Tsum of Hong Kong got second.

Loh, Thijs and Xing Yan Dong took it easy and finished in the main field, almost 5 minutes behind.

The Tour of Malaysia is a preparation race for the team, leading towards Tour of Siam and Tour de Langkawi.
