Great team performance at Genting PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 12 January 2008

The Trek-Marco Polo riders showed a good ride up the famous Genting Highlands climb; one of the toughest climbs in races on the Asia Tour calandar.
Fuyu Li was a bit disappointed, because he did not have the legs he was hoping for. A top 5 result was what was hoped for, Fuyu finished 14th, still a decent result, bringing him to 11th spot on GC.

The younger guys performed great. Liu Yilin finished very surprisingly as 9th in the stage, Ken Onodera was 19th and even 'non-climber' Loh Sea Keong finished 21st. Their results bringing the team to a 2nd place on the teams ranking of the queens stage and a 4th place in the team overall classification. This despite the sacrificing work the team did for Fuyu's overall lead.
Loh is now 3rd Malaysian rider.

Sergey Kudentsov did hurt his knee pretty bad in the crash in stage 4 and will have the knee examined in a Kuala Lumpur hospital this monday. Get well soon, Sergey!!
