The Trek – Marco Polo Cycling Team has won the very first race in its existence. Fuyu Li did get the team a dream start to the season by winning the first stage in the Jelajah - Tour of Malaysia.
The Trek – Marco Polo Cycling Team did not only renew a part of it’s sponsor-pool, but also composed a new team of riders.
A great start to an important year being a Chinese team as well as for Fuyu who returned to Trek - Marco Polo after racing last year on Discovery Channel Pro Tour squad.
Fuyu qualified through the Pro Tour for the Olympic road race in his
home country, so he started his Olympic preparation off well.
The Trek – Marco Polo Cycling Team will be defending Fuyu’s leaders
jersey until stage 6 when the famous climb to Genting highlands is on
the menu, hoping that Sergey Kudentsov can win some sprint-stages in
the process.
