On a very tough last climb, Sergey could not follow the best climbers of the Tour of Hainan, so after the stage he had to say goodbye to the yellow jersey. Yellow lost, but still a green jersey to be won. Sergey is only 3 points down in this competition, with one stage to go.
Thijs was the best rider on the team, finishing 15th in a first group of around 20 riders. It brought Thijs to a 16th spot GC. Liu Yilin did also have a good ride and he is now 25th GC and the 3rd Chinese rider in the race.
Hopefully the last stage will see a bunch sprint again, then Sergey can go for another stage win and the yellow jersey. The Intel Action team from Poland (a team with great results in European Pro races!) is simply too strong to still attack the yellow jersey.
