By taking Fuyu Li in their team and sponsoring the Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team, the Discovery Channel Pro Tour team showed that their ambitions in China are very serious.
Not many people could have thought that this would have results on Pro Tour level so soon. But Fuyu Li managed to take 7 Pro Tour points in the team time trial in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Which practically means that he qualifies China for the Olympic road race in Beijing, next year.

This has been the result of a long process. At the very start of the Marco Polo Cycling Club, the opportunities that arise in China, were recognised by the founders: Nathan Dahlberg, Anno Pedersen, Remko and Gudo Kramer. Hence the name of the club, later also the team and the Hong Kong and later Chinese registration of the team. The main target set between the Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team and the China Cycling Association, to prepare riders for the Olympics, has led Fuyu Li to Pro Tour level and China to participation in one more Olympic event!!
