Stage 2 of the national Tour of Malaysia was shortened due to heavy rainfall and flooded roads. The team had no special results, all riders in the main field were qualified 5th equally.

 In stage 3, Sergey showed that the speed is coming back into his legs. He was close to the win, almost crashed, but still managed to get a 3rd. Also Thijs Zonneveld starts to feel at home in Malaysia. He figured that the safest place was in front of the field. Thijs finished 8th.

 Stage 4 contains a climb of over 1000 meters altitude difference. The first real test in 2007...

At the first racing day of the Discovery Channel Marco Polo team, Sergey Kudentsov was the first DCMP rider to finish. Sergey got 7th in the first stage of the Tour of Malaysia.

Pol and Yutong tried to keep a leading group of 30 together for Sergey, but didn't succeed. Makotot Iyima of Japan won the stage and Lam Kai Tsum of Hong Kong got second.

Loh, Thijs and Xing Yan Dong took it easy and finished in the main field, almost 5 minutes behind.

The Tour of Malaysia is a preparation race for the team, leading towards Tour of Siam and Tour de Langkawi.

The first race with the Discovery Channel Marco Polo team will be:
Tour of Malaysia (6-12 January)

Home race for Loh; goes all around the peninsula and finishes with a crit in Kuala Lumpur.
Questionable are still the Chinese riders Xing Yan Dong and Yutong, because of their travel documents.

Sergey for the sprints again and the Dutchies Pol Nabben and Thijs Zonneveld will do their first race with us! It will be a warm up race for them, as Siam and Langkawi are considered far more important.
