The team took part in Memorial Philippe van Coningsloo. A Belgium Topcompetion race for u26 riders. The race had some climbs and some cobbles. Pol had a good result again, he got 12th, after attacking the break of 14 he was in. Also the other riders finished the race.
Xing Yan Dong has been struggeling with agressive and technical riding style in the races here over the past weeks, but managed to deal well with the cobbles, twisting and turns this time. A very important development for him!
Hisanori and new team rider Brad White also finsihed the 180km well in their European debut.
Loh attacked a lot, but made a wrong choice on a stretch of cobbles in the final and landed in the back.
The team is now off to Circuito Montanes in Spain.

Fuyu Li, riding for the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team in the Protour, returned to Europe. With some delay, because of difficulties with the procedure for his new European visa, Fuyu is back in competition. He had a good warming up in the Cologne Classic (criterium) were he finished 8th in a strong break-away. Last week he worked hard for his team in the Tour of Belgium. His teammate Gusev won the Tour of Belgium. Fuyu Li finished an impressive 37th place overall in the top-field of the Tour of Belgium.

The Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team had a strong performance in the "ronde van Limburg" a 175 km classic with long history in the Netherlands. Thijs Zonneveld was present in the main break-away of the day. Pol Nabben bridged over in a small group. Thijs forced the final decision and got away with 4 riders but he had to be satisfied with his strong riding and the 4th place. Pol controlled the next break and finished 7th.

Thijs Zonneveld finished a good 13th place in the final GC in the Tour of Japan. And now the team returned to the Netherlands for several races in Europe. The more experienced western riders will race the coming months with their Asian teammates, Chi Yin Leung, Loh Sea Keong, Xing Yan Dong, Hisanori Akiyama, Li Chao and hopefully also Liu Yi Lin.
This weekend the "Ronde van Limburg" a classic in the Netherlands is on the program and the next week "Memorial Phillip van Coningsloo" in Belgium. After that the riders will be challenged by the mountains in Spain in "Circuito Montanes".

Thijs Zonneveld from the Discovery Channel Marco Polo Team is going well in the Tour of Japan. In the first 4 stages he improved his position and entered the top 10 in GC.
