Leon van Bon 11th in Cape Argus PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 March 2008

Trek – Marco Polo rider Leon van Bon did get an 11th place in the famous Cape Argus event in South Africa. After a lot of bad luck in the Giro del Capo and a lot of suffering with ‘track legs’ uphill, Leon felt good again in the 35000 participants(!) event and just missed out on a real good result in the chaotic rush to the finish; some riders sprinted towards the wrong banner, a few hundred meters too early.

Fuyu was 29th and Bart Brentjens 32nd.

A good way to finish the South African races.

Next races:

- Loh Sea Keong is racing in Tour of Taiwan now

- 2-6 April Tour of East Java

- 15-17 April Asian Championships with Fuyu Li

Bart Brentjens 10th on GC now PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 08 March 2008

In stage 4, jai Crawford felt good and rode very aggressive, attacking to try and win the stage. Unfortunately he did bnot make the right break and finished in one group with Bart. As they kept the difference with the stage winners small, Bart managed to move up in GC. He is 10th now. The team is 4th in the team classification that is led by Barloworld.

The last stage of the race is a hill climb TT, that Jai has really focused on. Bart is hoping to keep his top 10.

Sunday, the team will take part in the Cape Argus cyclosportive race with 40.000 participants!
